The Volunteen program at Newton Medical Center is June 2 through August 1, 2003. Participants are required to submit application and attend orientation. A Volunteens is a teenager, 14 to 18 who volunteers their time and services to NMC. Applications due May 31. * ARTS N' CRAFT GANG: Help with cutting, coloring, and other crafty projects.

* DEWEY DECIMAL GANG: Help with shelving books in Children's Services area.

* PROGRAM HELPERS GANG: Help with Storytime, the Wednesday Activities Programs, and the LAUGH OUT LOUD FESTIVAL.

The Rules for becoming a member of the VOLUNTEER LIBRARY POSSE:

* Must be at least 12 years old, going into the 6
th grade or older; to apply.

* Must be available to work 1-2 hours per week during June – July, 2003.

* Application are available at the Adult or Children's Services desks. Parent/legal guardian approval and signature is required with the application.

* All application must be submitted to the library by June 2.

Relay for Life in Harvey County– June 20-21
Middle school age (with adult supervision) or older.
  1. ·Help set-up the day of the event or by forming teams to raise money for the event. Help set luminaries around the track, set-up games, signs, etc.

  1. ·Teams are at least 8 people. Each member on the team has to pay a $10 commitment fee to say they are actually going to be involved and then are requested to raise a suggested minimum of at least $100 per team member.
