Meet the writers who live and create in our region! On Saturday, Oct. 11, Newton Public Library is hosting its first-ever Local Author Day, a celebration of creativity and storytelling featuring authors from Harvey, Reno, McPherson, and Marion counties – and beyond.
Here’s the agenda for the day:
10:30 AM: Join co-editor Leslie VonHolten for a panel discussion of Kansas Matters. This new anthology of poetry and prose brings together 35 of today’s leading literary voices from the Sunflower State, exploring how Kansas makes us feel and why we’re proud to call it home.
1:30-3:30 PM: Browse books, chat with authors, and discover new local reads during our author fair.
4 PM: Stick around for an author talk with Laurie Dove, whose debut novel, Mask of the Deer Woman, was released earlier this year.
Whether you’re a writer, a reader, or just love supporting local talent, please join us.
