How to Write a Mystery

June 20, 2022

Are you interested in learning more about how mystery novels are written? Have you thought about trying your hand at writing your own? Then “How to Write a Mystery” is the class for you. Taught by mystery writer Steven J. Kolbe, the workshop will include a presentation, a novel outlining activity, and a Q&A with the author about the process of writing a mystery novel and securing a publisher.

This event is part of Newton Public Library's 2022 Adult Summer Reading Program: "Oceans of Possibilities!"

Steven J. Kolbe attended elementary school and part of middle school in Newton (South Breeze and Chisholm, respectively) and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in English from Kansas State University. He now teaches English at Holcomb High School. His debut novel, "How Everything Turns Away," is available in ebook and paperback formats from The Wild Rose Press.
