‘Top 20 for 2020’ series starts Thursday

Last year, Newton Public Library IT supervisor Nathan Carr focused his monthly tech talks on the many and varied services offered by Google.

In 2020, Nathan is planning to cast a broader net with a new theme: “Top 20 for 2020.” Each month, Nathan will highlight around 20 internet and technology resources you may not know about.

The series starts at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 9, when Nathan will present “Top 20 Health Tech Sites and Devices.”

Nathan plans to talk about 10 general health websites and 10 websites specifically focused on aging well. The sites are a mixture of nonprofit and government resources, including sites like Medicare.gov that most of us will probably want to navigate at some point.

As a bonus, Nathan will talk about some nifty medical robots that may become fixtures in the years ahead.

“Top 20 for 2020” programs will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. In February, Nathan will highlight sites and apps for book lovers, and in March, he will talk about weather forecasting sites and apps.

All of Nathan’s tech talks are archived for later viewing via the Kansas State Library.
